What the official Hytale Server Manual says a server needs, and how to run it on a Linux VPS you control. This is a guide, not a managed Hytale service.
Hytale's server software is something you can run on your own machine. That makes a VPS a reasonable home for it if you are comfortable with Linux. If you want a managed panel, one-click setup and support, a dedicated Hytale game host is the better fit, and we say plainly that Nxeon does not offer that for Hytale today.
A managed Hytale host
A Nxeon VPS
Nxeon does not sell managed Hytale servers. This page exists because many people ask what a Hytale server needs. The numbers below come from the official Hytale Server Manual as of 2026-10-02: at least 4 GB of memory, Java 25, x64 or arm64, and player traffic over UDP port 5520 using QUIC. Read the manual itself for current instructions and for Hytale's own terms, which apply to anything you run.
The manual's floor is 4 GB. Memory use grows with the size of the loaded world and view distance, so watch it as players join.
The server needs Java 25. The manual recommends the Adoptium (Temurin) distribution.
Players connect over UDP using QUIC, so open UDP port 5520 on your firewall. A TCP-only rule will not work.
Snapshot before updates and keep world backups off the server.
Allow only the ports you need and keep SSH locked to your own address or keys.
Run the server as a systemd service so it restarts after a reboot.
Deploy Ubuntu 24.04 LTS on a plan with at least 4 GB of RAM, such as Standard (4 GB).
Install the Temurin build of Java 25 as the manual recommends.
Follow the Server Manual's own steps to obtain the server files. Do not use unofficial copies.
Allow UDP 5520, start the server, and run it as a systemd service.
The official floor is 4 GB, so start at Standard (4 GB) and resize later if your world or player count grows.

No. We do not sell a managed Hytale server. This page is a guide to what a self-run server needs, and a general VPS is the only thing Nxeon sells that you could use for it.
Per the official Server Manual: at least 4 GB of memory, Java 25, x64 or arm64, and UDP port 5520 using QUIC. Check the manual for the current figures.
Hytale's server software is meant to be run by players and communities, but its terms, especially around commercial use, are Hytale's to state. Read them before running anything for money.
We will only offer it if and when it is clearly permitted. We will not announce it before then.
