I often dream of my home. The forest dreams of something of its own. The gray cuckoo across the river, counts how much time I have left to live.
The BMP-2 (GBTU index - Object 675) is a Soviet and Russian tracked infantry fighting vehicle designed to transport personnel to the front line, increase their mobility, armament and protection on the battlefield in conditions of the use of nuclear weapons and joint actions with tanks in combat. The main difference from the BMP-1 is a larger turret and equipment with a different set of weapons. The turret accommodates two people: a squad leader and a gunner-operator. The main armament is an automatic 30-mm cannon 2A42, manufactured at the Tula Machine-Building Plant. The BMP-2 was accepted into service with the Soviet Army on October 15, 1980. The infantry fighting vehicle was first demonstrated to the general public in Moscow at a parade on Red Square on November 7, 1982.
