Deep Thrust

The "Deep Thrust" was conceived as a "heavy nuclear bomber" by coalition navy architects. "Too big", "Too expensive", "Sending the wrong signal", "if only one ballast tank is breached it will sink to the bottom of the abyss", "we must win hearts and minds, not blow them to kingdom come" - the project was eventually halted for political reasons, allowing for one remaining prototype (and its considerable nuclear arsenal) to fall into the hands of the black market - which means, your hands!
