Barotrauma spent more time deleting objects during loading than actually doing loads. Higher framerates let the game do this as fast as the sillicon would allow. On top of this, I tried to add some memory management to reduce the amount of time spent deleting objects. [Please do let me know if you experience any crashes.]
Commands Available: fastload_verbose - Enables logging fastload_benchmark - Limits game to 60 fps for comparison tests fastload_setfps - Lets you view/edit maxfps in config_player.xml from console. All of them have tab autocomplete and help information.
How to Use: Install LuaCS Subscribe to this and Enable.
TL;DR Significantly reduces loading times during level transitions. Instant loading for smaller levels or Sandbox mode. (Albeit, only at high framerates) Client-side optimization. Safe to add/remove mid-campaign.
