Hands Up!

Hold G to surrender. The character raises their hands, can no longer use anything, and other players can grab them, look through their inventory — and rob them, if the server allows it. I made this mod mainly because when you're roleplaying and someone searches you, you have to ragdoll onto the floor.

Requirements

• This mod REQUIRES LuaForBarotrauma. Follow the installation instructions on the LuaForBarotrauma Workshop page.

What surrendering does

• Whatever is in the hands goes into the character's own inventory, or on the floor if there is no room for it
• The surrendering player cannot use items, doors or ladders, and cannot move their own gear
• Anyone can grab them (vanilla Grab key) and look through their inventory, the same way handcuffs allow it.
• Slots whose items may not be moved are darkened and crossed out. Bags in the inventory can still be opened and looked into

Server setting: stealing

In the console (F3 by default):

[noparse]handsup                 print whether taking items is allowed right now
handsup steal true      allow taking items from surrendering players
handsup steal false     block it (default)[/noparse]

• blocked (default) — the inventory can be looked through, but nothing leaves it
• allowed — anyone may take items out of a surrendering player

Only a client with the ManageSettings permission may change it.

The value lives server-side in config.txt next to the mod:
