The client-side version of Hull Deformation, transforming the submarine’s static walls into a visually deformable hull.
Damage no longer looks like a simple reduction of section durability — the metal bends in the direction of the impact, creating a much more noticeable and physically believable hull reaction.
Main Features
- Directional deformation — the hull bends depending on the side and direction of the impact.
- Configurable segmentation — the number of deformation segments can be adjusted for smoother wall bending or improved performance.
- Creature collisions visually deform submarine walls.
- Explosions bend metal away from the epicenter, both inside and outside the submarine.
- Bullets and hitscan weapons deform the hull in the direction of projectile travel.
- Plasma cutters gradually bend metal along the cutting line.
- Background walls deform together with the hull, but with reduced intensity.
- Visual wall detachment — when a wall is completely destroyed, its dark inner layer breaks off and falls as physical debris. This feature can be disabled separately in the settings.
- Smooth restoration — repairing a wall gradually returns it to its original shape.
- Client-side installation only — the server and other players do not need to install the mod.
Client-Side Version Limitations
- Deformation is visible only to the player who has installed the mod.
- Wall shapes are not synchronized with other players.
- The physical collision of the main walls remains unchanged and uses the standard collision shape.
- Visual wall detachment and debris physics are not synchronized with other players without the Server Side version.
- After connecting or when a wall appears, its shape may differ from the state shown on other clients.
Settings
The mod can be configured in:
Settings → Mod Gameplay Settings → Directional Hull Deformation
Available settings:
- Deformation strength — adjustable from 10 to 200%.
- Deformation segmentation — changes the number of visual wall segments.
- Visual wall detachment — enables or disables the dark inner layer breaking away from fully destroyed walls.
All settings apply only to your client.
