NT Prostate Cancer

An expansion for Neurotrauma that adds a realistic prostate cancer to the game: silent at first, found by screening, graded by biopsy, and treated with surgery, hormone therapy or chemotherapy.

Load this mod after Neurotrauma.

The disease

• Each male character is rolled once (default 8%, configurable).
• The tumor starts small and silent, and grows faster with higher ISUP grade groups (1 to 5).
• Untreated, it spreads to the bone. Advanced disease causes pelvic pain, kidney damage from obstruction, weakness, pallor, bone pain and pathological fractures.
• Nothing about the disease is shown on the health scanner. You have to find it.

Diagnosis

• PSA: read it on the hematology analyzer. High PSA suggests cancer but does not prove it.
• Examination Glove (digital rectal exam): only palpable tumors are felt, so a normal exam does not rule cancer out. The patient must be ragdolled, stunned or unconscious. A conscious patient gets the temporary Violated debuff (and will let everyone know about it).
• Prostate Biopsy Needle: reports grade group and Gleason score, but can miss small tumors. Small risk of bleeding and infection.

Treatment

• Radical prostatectomy (Organ Scalpel: Prostate, chest opened first): cures localized disease. Locally advanced disease leaves residual tumor behind.
• Leuprolide (androgen deprivation): slows growth and spread for a long time, but resistance builds up. Hot flashes and weakness.
• Docetaxel (chemotherapy): shrinks tumor and metastases, with nausea, weakness and fever.

Items can be bought from medical merchants and fabricated in the medical fabricator.

Settings

In the Neurotrauma config menu: cancer incidence, tumor growth speed and metastasis speed.

Testing

With cheats enabled, open the console (F3):

• pc_give /me mid: gives prostate cancer (small, mid, advanced, metastatic or none)
• pc_status /me: shows the hidden disease values

Expansão do Neurotrauma que adiciona o câncer de próstata de forma realista: silencioso no início, descoberto por exames, graduado por biópsia e tratado com cirurgia, hormonoterapia ou quimioterapia.

Requisitos: Neurotrauma e LuaCsForBarotrauma. Carregue depois do Neurotrauma.

A doença: cada personagem masculino é sorteado uma vez (padrão 8%). O tumor começa pequeno e sem sintomas, cresce mais rápido nos graus mais agressivos e, sem tratamento, dá metástase óssea, dor, dano renal, fraqueza e fraturas. Nada aparece no scanner de saúde: é preciso investigar.

Diagnóstico: PSA no analisador de hematologia, exame de toque retal com a Luva de Exame (o paciente precisa estar em ragdoll ou inconsciente; se estiver consciente ganha o debuff Violado) e biópsia, que informa grau e Gleason, mas pode errar tumores pequenos.

Tratamento: prostatectomia radical (cura doença localizada), leuprolida (hormonoterapia, desacelera por bastante tempo até surgir resistência) e docetaxel (quimioterapia, com náusea, fraqueza e febre).

Configurações: incidência, velocidade do tumor e velocidade das metástases, no menu de configuração do Neurotrauma.
