P942 Akula

The P942 Akula was designed for exploration and long-distance travel in the Abyss and other undeveloped, resource-scarce waters. To fulfill this role, it is equipped with:

>Three large turrets: two Railguns and one Flak Cannon Four small turrets, one of which can be operated directly by the captain from the bridge >A large cargo room >Interior and exterior cameras operated by the captain, allowing the crew to monitor conditions both inside and outside the submarine >Junction boxes equipped with power-output displays, along with an adjustable reactor controller >Large ballast tanks and four large pumps. When descending, additional intake ports allow the ballast tanks to be flooded rapidly >A powerful 1300-output engine

When it was designed 18 years ago, the Akula featured advanced technology. However, as the Coalition made breakthroughs in regional exploration through the use of various fleets, there was no longer a need for such a massive and maintenance-intensive multipurpose fortress. Due to its high cost, production was soon discontinued after only eight vessels had been built.

Now, 18 years later, several surviving second-hand Akulas have found their way onto the market, waiting for their next captains at prices lower than their original construction cost...
