"A compact civilian submarine, the Springhare is typically seen without armaments or even a reactor. This model has been refitted with both, despite Coalition disapproval on adding turrets to civillian vessels. Its small size allows one person to handle all operations, though up to three can be aboard. The oxygen system was never designed for more than that, making personnel transport inadvisable. With the cockpit and airlock at the bow, the front section is especially vulnerable to damage."
