This is the pre-release build of Withering Souls, containing a bunch of content not in the base mod at this time. Right now, it is being cut down to size, and focused solely on zombies.

Infection is now split into 3 parts: The Abyssal Mark, the Benthic Mark, and Hadal Rot. Hadal Rot is a simple bacterial infection that kills you, I plan to make it something you can rarely catch from other sources. Treat it with Broad-Spectrum Antibiotics early, or you will suffer lasting, permanent injuries. The Abyssal Mark resurrects you as a zombie on death, which can later evolve into an undying ghoul. The Benthic Mark resurrects you in much the same way, but your zombified self just won't evolve. As compensation, they get to open doors and tank a bit more damage.

To quickly kill a downed zombie, you can headshot them for a guaranteed kill. This only works on zombies in crit.

Ghouls must be incinerated, ejected from the airlock, or simply brought to critical condition several times in a row if all else fails, before it will stay down for good. Ghouls are strong enough to break down doors, and they often hit the button while doing so.

Zombies and Ghouls can only bite you when you fall below 70-80% HP, and after biting you, they are likely to leave you alone for a little bit as the stench of decay follows you around. Attacking them will remind them you're not one of them, however. Bites are a guaranteed Mark, but you won't always get Hadal Rot from it.

The Marks only show after several minutes, and always on the left arm.

Here be dragons. Expect bugs and a bloated filesize. Not every feature is complete, but I'm working on it, okay?
