A long time ago: Beloved Mounts (WIP)
Your reliable and strong companions.
Mod ID: 3723662549
Description in brief:
- Removal of the "over-encumbered" restriction.
- More inventory slots: 30 for horses and rhinos, 60 for camels.
- Riding becomes available at level 10.
- New: Up to 7 mounts as followers.
- Longer gallop due to reduction of stamina costs but doubled time for stamina regeneration.
- Significantly reduced drop probability, but thus more responsibility for the rider.
Adjustments in detail:
Your mount is now also a beast of burden:
- Your mount no longer cares if you are "over-encumbered". Mounts are now really valuable companions, not only on long farming trips.
- Your mounts now have three times as many inventory slots. Horses and rhinos have 30 places and camels 60.
- I have only tested these two adaptations on horses and camels.
Mounts already from Level 10:
- Instead of level 15, you can use this mod to build stables and raise horses (or other pets) from level 10.
- Previously, the crafting of saddles was only possible from level 20. My mod also changes this requirement to level 10.
- You can now carry up to 7 mounts with you as followers. This setting is for me to be able to move multiple mounts from one place to another at the same time in the event of a redesign or relocation of my base.
Greater Endurance:
- You can cover significantly greater distances with your mount until it needs to regenerate its stamina. To achieve this, the stamina cost for the gallop has been reduced to about a third of its vanilla value.
- In turn, your mount now takes about twice as long to fully regenerate its stamina. That's why it's better to give your mount a break in safe terrain early on.
- Your mount will no longer drop you as quickly. While this can be very beneficial for you as a rider, in the worst case it means that the survival of your mount depends on your sense of responsibility to an unprecedented extent.
Future plans:
- Currently, this mod meets both my ideas and my modding skills. No further changes or new features are planned.
The story behind the mod:
When horses finally came into play, many players were quite excited. So do I. If I remember correctly, the horses initially offered more inventory spaces than today and proved to be useful companions on my farming tours. I don't even remember if the "over-encumbered" restriction existed from the beginning. In any case, I always found them extremely annoying. Especially since I almost always had the perk "Beats of Burden" unlocked at some point. When the available inventory spaces were later reduced, horses were only suitable for me to get from point A to B faster; otherwise they were an annoying obstacle as companions. That's exactly why this mod exists now.
Special Notes on Compatibility / Load Order:
Assets NOT modified according to the "best practice" principle: BP_MountInput. In order to be able to remove the "over-encumbered" restriction, I had to modify the base game blueprint BP_MountInput. Despite multiple and intensive research, I have not found a better option.
Mods that also change BP_MountInput are not compatible with my mod or only to a limited extent. Whether the removal of the "over-encumbered" restriction would then still work would depend directly on the load order (see General Notes below).
The change in inventory slots only applies to mounts of other mods based on the three base actor blueprints (horses, camels, rhinos). The load order should then not play a role.
Mods that only change the speed values of the base game saddles in the SattleTable should be able to be used together with mine if these changes are made according to "best practice". The load order then does not play a role.
On completely new saddles, "Beloved Mounts" would not change any values.
If, on the other hand, new saddles are only brought into play as a visual variant of existing saddles, and otherwise adopt their values, they would also receive the endurance and resistance values I have adjusted.

Important note:
My mods under the title "A long time ago: ..." are explicitly aimed at Conan Exiles Veterans who have played through almost everything in the base game at least once on one of the two maps. The included adjustments may have a significant impact on gameplay and player progression, or at least on the overall gameplay experience. Of course, I can understand the desire to spend one's precious time in a (virtual) world that comes as close as possible to one's own preferences. Nevertheless, I would recommend every newcomer to play through the game in its basic configuration without mods in peace.
General information on compatibility / load order:
If another mod changes the same assets and/or data as this one, the adjustments of the last mod loaded (further down in the mod list) usually take precedence. Unless otherwise stated above, this mod will otherwise likely work with most other mods and positions in the load order.
Testing and Updating Policy:
The use of my mods is expressly at your own risk! They are only tested within the framework that my life, the devkit and my very own playstyle and configurations allow. I am generally grateful for important hints in the comments, but I cannot guarantee that I will always react to them. If you don't agree with this "guideline", you should definitely not use my mods!
One last note:
My mother tongue is German, my English rather poor. My English mod descriptions are therefore translated with Microsoft Translator. I hope that they are easy to read and correct.
