Aesir Freya Enhanced

Hello everyone,

With this mod, I have changed the appearance of Freya to align with her Aesir heritage. And her husband, Angvarr, too.

The Aesir

From what I know regarding the lore of the Hyborian Age, the Aesir are the blonde-haired cousins to the red-headed Vanir. The Exiled Lands' Heirs of the North is purportedly composed of members of each group, who have set aside their mutual disdain to survive in this inhospitable realm.

While there are essentially no blonde Nordheimer in-game for whatever reason (a problem to solve another time), I have decided to adjust the appearance of their most prominent daughter, the unique companion Freya, to bring her in-line with her Northern heritage.

The Changes

To that end, her hair color was changed from fake red to blonde, which I hope should be obvious from the pictures above. However, I was always peeved that named NPCs have mostly-random facial sliders, so I decided to give Freya a fixed appearance as well.

How Freya should look is up to each person's interpretation. But, as the el presidente of this mod, I decided on the first head shape as it was similar to her cinematic appearance and 'more Scandinavian' than her original one. Ultimately, I tried to make her an attractive character because, to be blunt, that's what most people are going to care about.

Q & A

* Will the appearance of my existing Freya change with this mod? - No, this mod only affects newly-spawned NPCs.

* What happens to my Aesir Freya if I remove the mod? - Her Aesir appearance will remain if the mod is removed. Any Freyas collected after will use her original appearance.

* Are there any compatibility issues with other mods? - It should work with just about everything out there. The mod is simple, so if any issues do arise, placing this mod lower in the list will likely solve it.

* Will you give her the Aesir stat modifiers to make her much more powerful? - Maybe, I could if a lot of people would want that.

* Why make Freya blonde when in Norse mythology she is a Vanir and red-haired? - I'm not operating on the assumption that the two Freyas are the same entity. If Funcom wanted to give the impression that Freya is a Vanir, they should not have made her explicitly state that she is a "warrior of the Aesir", with the Aesir being uniformly blonde / golden-haired in Howard's setting.

* Why did you make this? I could do it myself with [insert mod name here]. - If you have to ask, the mod may not be for you.

* Do you realize you're an -ist that believes in -isms because you're contributing to systemic blah blah blah? - You're wrong and I don't care.
