Lore Friendly Sandstorm adresses basegame issues with sandstorm taken from a Lore perspective.

[discontinued] Funcom made sure I don't really want to make any more content for their game, mod works, it will very likely continue to work for years to come, but... no more updates

Mod ID: 2802361140

Lore as in game: - sandstorm was created by Priestking to combat Human threat to Giant Kings - it was released by Warmaker and aimed at city of Xel-ha, seat of Witch Queen, leader of the Human rebelion - once sandstorm was released and headed to it's destination, Human named Petruso, a priest of Dagon, performed a ritual that bound sandstorm element to his own flesh - Xel-ha was saved, Pertuso succeeded and changed direction of the sandstorm that stroke at what is now known as sandswept ruins - by doing so Petruso doomed himself and locked sandstorm in perpetual cycle that ravaged Giant Kings domain turning once fertile lands into wasteland we find our Exiles in

Now issues: - basegame sandstorm is aimed at sandswept ruins, that seems sort of fine, it turns however running away to the desert for some reason, never reaching the place - basegame sandstorm is, well, dimunitive, how something so small could turn such a large area into wastelad? It never even touches the most wasted parts on the Highlads border - basegame sandstorm have no sandstorm beasties, while they're mentioned by NPCs and presented in intro movie

The mod: - added protection against sandstorm choking dust to number of headgear items that deserve it - changes sandstorm path - it is initially aimed at Xel-ha, and at the edge of Jungles it takes sharp turn towards sandswept ruins and Petruso. - changes sandstorm volume - it actually encompases whole sandy wastelads, most of it anyway. - sandstorm beasties prowl in sandstorm wake, just like in intro movie, configurable through MCP [Link]

Fun fact: you can now gaze at sandstorm in it's whole destructive glory from amptly named Stormwatch camp.

Compatibility Notes: - no basegame assets edited - no table merges
