A Living Political Map for Conan Exiles

Claim land. Develop your holdings. Control resources. Build an empire.

This mod introduces a complete territory, colonization and regional economy system to Conan Exiles, turning the world map into a living political landscape shaped by the clans playing on your server.

The Exiled Lands are divided into individual territories that can be colonized, developed and controlled by clans. Every region has its own economic value, resources and strategic importance, creating reasons to expand beyond simply finding another place to build.

Territory is no longer just empty land between bases.

It becomes something worth fighting for.

Political Map

Open the map to see the current political state of the world.

Clan-controlled territories are displayed using their own heraldic colors and emblems, allowing players to immediately understand who controls each part of the map.

The political map also distinguishes special territory types such as:

  • Uncolonized Territories ? land still available for expansion
  • Administrative Settlements ? protected or server-controlled towns
  • PvE Territories ? regions reserved for PvE content and activities

As clans rise and fall, the political map changes with them.

Borders move.

Empires expand.

Old powers disappear.

New ones take their place.

Colonization

Clans can expand their influence by colonizing new territories.

Expansion requires resources and becomes increasingly demanding as a clan grows, preventing the largest factions from endlessly consuming the map without effort.

Owning additional land remains valuable, but territorial expansion is designed around diminishing returns and increasing commitment.

A small realm can grow quickly.

A large realm must work to maintain its momentum.

Colonial Supplies can be acquired through territorial production as well as other server activities, allowing expansion to remain connected to the wider game rather than becoming a completely isolated system.

Regional Resources ? RGOs

Every territory has access to regional resources representing the economic output of the land.

These include:

  • Grain
  • Fish
  • Wood
  • Livestock
  • Ore
  • Horses
  • Gold
  • Gems

These are not intended to replace ordinary Conan gathering.

They represent large-scale clan resources produced by controlled territory.

A dedicated RGO Map Mode allows players to view the economic geography of the world and identify valuable regions before deciding where to expand.

A mountain rich in ore may be worth more to one clan than fertile agricultural land.

Another may seek horses.

Another may fight over gold.

Territorial warfare now has an economic reason behind it.

Territory Development

Not all land remains equally valuable.

Territories have a Development rating from 0 to 100, representing investment, infrastructure and the growing productivity of the region.

Higher development dramatically improves regional production, giving clans another choice:

Expand wide, or invest in what you already control.

Highly developed territory can become considerably more productive than newly colonized land.

The dedicated Development Map Mode displays this visually using a color gradient:

  • Red ? poorly developed
  • Yellow ? established
  • Green ? highly developed

This makes prosperous regions immediately visible on the world map.

And potentially very tempting targets.

Regional Production

Territories continuously generate economic production according to their:

  • Development
  • Regional resources
  • Clan territorial size
  • Production characteristics

Production is converted into physical regional supplies that can be collected through territory infrastructure.

The system uses persistent production tracking, allowing regional economies to continue functioning correctly across normal server operation and restarts.

Large clans still receive greater total production from owning more territory, but each additional holding becomes progressively less efficient.

This creates a natural resistance to runaway economic snowballing without making expansion worthless.

Three Map Modes

The map can be switched between three strategic views:

POLITICAL See borders, clan ownership, heraldry and special territories.

RESOURCES See the primary economic resources available throughout the world.

DEVELOPMENT See which territories are undeveloped frontier regions and which have become wealthy centers of power.

Together, these views transform the ordinary Conan map into a strategic interface for diplomacy, planning and warfare.

Clan Heraldry

Controlled territories visually represent their owners using clan colors and emblems.

Rather than covering the original map with flat UI colors, territory coloration is integrated into the underlying map style, preserving terrain detail while making political borders clearly readable.

The result is intended to feel like a living campaign map rather than a simple overlay.

Built for Multiplayer Servers

The system is designed around persistent multiplayer worlds where clans compete, cooperate and develop over time.

It can support:

  • Political roleplay
  • Kingdom and faction servers
  • Territorial PvP
  • Economic warfare
  • Diplomacy
  • Resource competition
  • Server-driven settlements
  • PvE regions
  • Long-term clan progression

The goal is not simply to add another progression bar.

It is to give players something larger to care about.

Who owns the land?
