Zmey Gorynych, the three-headed dragon of the Russian byliny, in Palekh lacquer style on midnight lacquer. Its crimson scaled body runs the length of the stock, a bat wing spreads across it and the tail wraps under the thumbhole. Three necks fan out from its chest: the great head breathes fire along the forend, the second snarls down the grip and the third down the scale-armoured magazine. The barrel is clad in crimson dragon scales edged in gold right to the muzzle, and from the scope, banded in gold, an amber dragon's eye watches. Belly plates, scale rims, spines, horns and talons are polished gold, and so are the bolt, rings, bipod and muzzle brake.
