# Kibs Environmental Controls (KEC)

KEC adds environmental survival mechanics, temperature management, and new functional equipment to DayZ.

## Air Conditioning & Heating - Custom placeable, heavy air conditioning unit. - Cooling, Heating, and Off modes. - Powered by a generator or truck battery with metal wire. - Indoor cooling radius of 10 meters. - Indoor heating radius of 6 meters. - Distance-based temperature effects. - Custom operating sounds.

## Refrigeration & Freezing - Custom vintage refrigerator model. - Generator-powered operation. - Refrigerator compartment: **+2°C, 8×10 storage**. - Freezer compartment: **−18°C, 8×6 storage**. - Supports food, drinks, medical supplies, and other compatible items. - Uses DayZ's native temperature, freezing, and thawing systems. - Heavy, placeable equipment with compressor sounds.

## Custom Cold Buff System - Custom cooling reserve generated by powered AC cooling. - Blue, three-stage cooling indicator on the HUD. - Cooling reserve continues protecting against heat after leaving the AC. - Reserve consumption depends on environmental temperature, clothing insulation, and body heat. - Active ice packs and carried frozen food/drinks pause reserve depletion. - Portable cooling sources stack, up to eight sources. - Cooling integrates with DayZ's native temperature system. - Excessive cooling can still cause dangerous cold conditions.

## Portable Ice Packs - Custom single-use, activatable ice packs. - Approximately 20 minutes of cooling per pack. - Cooling works while carried in inventory or hands. - Remaining charge displayed on the item. - Activated ice packs receive a blue inventory tint. - Frozen food and drinks also provide portable cooling while frozen.

## Dynamic Sunburn System - Tracks six individual body regions: head, face, hands, torso, legs, and feet. - Three sunburn severity levels: Mild, Moderate, and Severe. - Exposure influenced by daylight, clouds, shade, and protective clothing. - Early warning messages before the first sunburn stage. - Additional warning messages as severity increases. - Sunburn causes progressive health damage. - Severe untreated sunburn can cause wound infection. - Natural recovery while protected from further UV exposure. - Individual inventory-slot colors indicate sunburn severity.

## Sunscreen & Aloe Vera - Custom-textured SPF 100 sunscreen and aloe vera jars. - Sunscreen applied individually to all six body regions. - Sunscreen lasts 30 minutes per application and reduces UV exposure by 90%. - Ten sunscreen applications per jar. - Aloe vera treats individual burned body regions. - Five aloe applications per jar. - Severe sunburn requires six normal aloe treatments for full recovery. - Refrigerated aloe provides double treatment effectiveness. - Three Cold aloe treatments can fully heal severe sunburn. - Seven-second application actions with animations. - Equipment-slot indicators show active sunscreen protection.

## Additional Features - Custom AC, refrigerator, and ice pack models. - Custom item textures and sounds. - Generator heat output disabled to avoid unintended heating. - Supports natural item spawning through server Central Economy configuration. - Designed to work alongside DayZ's existing survival and temperature mechanics.
