Introduction

You know those beige vests some people wear that you just point blank ignore and spray into anyway? Or how about those blue press vests soft armor that seems to give the same impact resistance as heavy plated armor? Or how about the fact that a prestine platecarrier is like some sort of siamese twin that only ruins when you die? Well no more! Revamped Ballistics aims to change all that, making every armor a progression that actually makes sense, aswell as adding counter messures with bullet types for each cartridge. Going against Unarmored players, zombies or just hunting animals for food, grab some Hollow points for extra flesh damage, going into a PvP area with gear players, bring AP rounds! All ammo will be competely designed to work as their RL counterpart, so HollowPoints will be useless against armored vests. If you are a sniper, and your target has an armored vest on, and you only have JHP or standard FMJ, you better make that headshot, or get in closer to secure the kill.

Standard rounds may need tweaking, at the moment they sit inbetween JHP and Steeltip round armor damages, but I need to test further.

Vanilla clothing has not been touched, I have added new copies of some of the ballistic vests and helmets which can be spawned in by admins to be tested with bullets. A classname file is included in the mod 'ReadMe folder' and have also included a types.xml to add to your types. But bewarned this mod is still currently undergoing testing.

Modded weapons added will not be able to chamber any of the newly added rounds until patches are made. Added Magazine added from mods will not be able to load any of the newly added Cartridges. Modded guns that use standard magazines will be able to use the ammo. Modded Ammo added will most likely be unbalance either too weak or too strong. However I think if they have been balanced correctly should be around a good okay FMJ mark. But will not offer any extra damage to modded vests.

I have decided to skip retexturing ammo boxes for the time being, to speed up the mod production, cartridges will be loose for the time being.

What the mod has so far!

Revamped Ballistics currently adds:

5.56x45 -

- M855 'Green Tip' Lead Core FMJ with a steel tip designed for light penetration. - JHP 'Red Tip' Jacketed Hollow Point with red polymer tip to help accuracy while still mushrooming for high damage. - M995 'Black Tip' Tungsten core FMJ with black tip which sole purpose is to make holes!

9x19 -

- Hornady Critical Duty 135grain Jacketed Hollow Point with red plastic cap to improve feed with semi automatic pistols. - 7N31 black tip 9mm AP cartridge.

45 ACP -

- 45 ACP Jacketed Hollow points with red plastic cap - 45 ACP Steel tip penetration bullets (Not classified AP)

308 -

- 308 Jacketed Hollow Points - 308 AP

7.62x39 -

- 7.62x39 Green Tip Steel Cartridges - 7.62x39 Jacketed Hollow Points - 7.62x39 AP

7.62x54mmR -

- 7.62x54mmR Jacketed Hollow Points - 7.62x54mmR AP

5.45x39 -

- 5.45x39 Jacketed Hollow Points - 5.45x39 AP

9x39 -

- 9x39 Jacketed Hollow Points - 9x39 AP (Alternate version and not the Vanilla one.)

Plate Armors -

- PlateCarrier Armor has been adjusted to offer more protection to certain rounds but not others. NIJ Level III Armor - PlateCarrier C-IV, NIJ Level IV Plated Armor designed to take higher caliber rounds.

Armor Plated Helmets -

- Tactical Helmet has been adjusted to offer more protection to certain rounds but not others. NIJ Level IIIa and III. - Ballistic Helmet Level IV Plated designed to take higher caliber rounds.

Whats differentiates the cartridges

I am trying to balance the rounds to be fit for purpose as they are in real life.

The classifications are as follows:

- Jacketed Hollow Points (JHP)

Cartridges designed for controlled penetration. They are designed to expand on impact slowing down the projectile and releasing all energy into the target and creating larger wounds. They have a stronger base damage of that of FMJs however due to these cartridges design to mushroom, they are useless penetrating any form of Armored Vest.

- Armor-Piercing (AP)

Cartridges designed for max penetration. They have no base increase in damage to flesh, as standard FMJ leadcores or AP they will penetrate flesh will the same results. However, AP are designed to pierce armor.

- Steel-tipped (ST)

Cartridges are basically lesser versions of their AP counterparts, they share the same damage to flesh, and do slightly more damage to Armor than standard FMJs, these cartridges should be easier to find than that of AP, since steel tipped bullets do not fall under the classification of AP they are more common and easily purchasable to civilians.

Armor Classes
Level II and IIIA
are soft armor designed to handle pistol rounds, they will not offer much protection to higher caliber.
Level III and IV
are hard plate armor built to withstand rifle bullets, however they do still suffer damage from lower caliber rounds.

Armor models will not change, I have yet to decide how to make the armors more easy to distinguish from one another. However level II and IIIA will be the StabVest model, and Level III & IV will be plate carrier. These will either be colored to signify its class, or some sort of visual identifier. Helmet models will not change, currently Tactical Helmet is used for both level III and IIIa and Ballistics Helmet is used for IV.
