The Shira character mod for Don't Starve Together. Play as the sagacious and charming technomantic animancing nine-tailed vixen from a yet-unreleased game! Public release version. Featuring custom dialogue, custom art, custom talking sounds, and a custom perk set, as well as a custom item set.

Basic lore- ~ Shira was born in the times of technology. She is purely human; her appearance is due to her parents' taste in cosmetic gene modifications. She was raised by robots, and as such has a good grasp of technology; she studies the supernatural with it. She's quite old, and not afraid of the taboos of society.

Let's get straight into the details, since it's the most important part, right?

This character was built to be easy, with emphasis on base-building and supporting your teammates. Shira has the ability to instantly kill shadow creatures, and has three extra items to craft out of nightmare fuel, including a ranged explosive and a turret. Pick her when you want to get resources safely and efficiently. She works best alongside a combat-based character, like Wigfrid or Wolfgang.

Perks, as seen in game:

*Bane of all nightmares *Studies shadows *Is a charming sage

Actual stats and perks (what you actually care about)

= 90 health = 100 hunger = 25 sanity

+ Charms nearby players every minute, restoring 5 sanity (40 per day if always in range; this does not work on herself)

+ Instantly banishes shadow creatures with her attacks, restoring 12.5 sanity per kill!

+ Three new items!

++ Spirit Bomb: Throw to deal 34 splash damage in a small area of effect. 1 cut grass and 2 nightmare fuel in the FIGHT tab to make one.

++ Skewered Spirits: Consume for +20 hp, +12.5 hunger, and -15 sanity (identical to raw blue mushroom). 1 twigs and 2 nightmare fuel in the SURVIVAL tab to make one.

++ Knightmare Statue: A turret-like structure. Deals 25 damage at medium range to one target, with identical A.I. to the Houndius Shootius. It has 500 health and 8 health regen/second, and a sluggish fire rate. 70 nightmare fuel, 5 marble, and 1 purple gem in the MAGIC tab to make one.

Tips

~ Be careful with those Spirit Bombs. They're great for clearing clustered spiders, frogs, and bees, but they're impractical for taking on big enemies, like Tree Guards or Koalefants. The splash damage can also hit things you might not want it to, so be careful!

~ Go insane! That's your main perk! Eat that green mushroom, eat that raw meat, eat that spoiled food, and then charge the shadow creatures and devour them! (Shadow creatures from insanity seem to spawn less frequently while in the caves). You can also instantly kill ally-spawned shadow creatures, and then let your sanity regen boost them back to normal over time. It's not a short-term solution, though; it's too slow for that. ~(By the way, her favorite food is raw green cap, so don't miss out!)

~ On the topic of going insane, don't let your guard down. Shadow creatures can still hit you if you mess up or aren't paying attention, and it doesn't take much to kill you. Additionally, sanity-draining creatures cause you to have to face them AND shadow creatures at the same time, which can be dangerous.

~ You're much too fragile to deal with giants. Get an ally to take them out for you, or make sure you're always armored; one unprotected hit, and you're dead.

~ Planning on building a Knightmare Statue? Those aren't cheap, so don't just go throwing them about wherever; place them strategically! They're actually fairly fragile, and will easily get taken out by groups of spiders. Until you have many, they're not particularly strong against tough opponents or many opponents, but they're excellent at defending any walls you might have. Since marble and purple gems are renewable, you will eventually have a truly fortified, very mighty fort.

This mod needs more testing for bugs, balance and whatnot. That's where you come in! Do let me know how you feel about the character, whether it be aesthetic, balance, or anything else, in the comments below. Especially let me know if there's something very wrong, like a crash, or incorrect dialogue.

Not tested for, and not intended for, PvP. This was made purely with co-op in mind.

I would love to add more to the mod, but the technical side has me befuddled. If you or a loved one can code and wants to help, I'd love to whip up some updated and new graphics for more nightmare fuel uses and upgrade the mod.
