DST Sodium improves frame-time stability in large worlds and long-running saves while preserving vanilla gameplay and final results wherever possible.

Inspired by Minecraft Sodium's approach to reducing unnecessary background work and spreading concentrated workloads across multiple frames.

Due to the limitations of DST's Lua API, this mod cannot replace the renderer or rewrite the game engine. It focuses on background timers and workload spikes that can be adjusted safely.

For the complete optimization, keeping all options enabled is recommended.

Main Features

Area Unloading Optimization When an area leaves the active range, eligible plant-growth and production-building timers are paused. The elapsed time is compensated when the area becomes active again, preserving growth speed and production results.

Base Loading Optimization When entering an area containing many buildings and plants, timer-restoration work managed by this mod is distributed across multiple frames. A per-frame processing limit helps reduce sudden workload spikes.

Entity visuals, interaction and collision remain immediately available and are not delayed by the restoration queue.

Unchanged Vanilla Content

  • No changes to TUNING or vanilla balance values
  • No changes to growth time, production output or production requirements
  • No changes to chest contents, item stacks or save data
  • No changes to cooking recipes, spoilage or fuel consumption
  • No entities are removed, hidden or merged

Performance improvements depend on save size, installed mods and hardware.

Compatibility

This is a server-side mod. Other players do not need to install it.
