NOTE: If you have to have the base be 8.49 for a class size of 8, I released a slightly altered version with less trim on the front door, a thinned down and altered rear image and a reduced number of windows on the roof. This put the base at 8.18 and with the gardens fully planted it goes to 8.48, which still falls in as a class 8. It is available here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1870366770
NOTE: I added 4 images that are sort of an action, perspective, teaser and product placement for a talented fellow's work all rolled into one. Someone asked me in chat if my base was big enough to use with jrandall's new Kriel -Overseer CV(Still laughing about that question) I said "God no! His ship is a beautiful flying city." To give people who have only seen his screen shots some perspective, I placed his new Kriel - Overseer over a POI I am working on that is around class 18.
Since I was already planning to add some Red Baron product shots, I threw it all in together. As you can see from the images, this Arch BP looks tiny with the Overseer behind and above. You have to subscribe to that CV. It has so be seen up close and inside to be believed. It is amazing and I have yet to build a base or pad even half big enough to use with it. But obviously, "he tasks me!" and I will start one eventually. As you can see, Red Baron's stuff, although not as large, is still awesome and stylish, to say the least.
NOTE: CV in first images pictured info added at bottom. The hot little turquoise SV in the group shot is the Asp-X by Jenniphurr and can be found here: https://steamcommunity.com/id/Jenniphurr/myworkshopfiles/ The red and white Uron SVs by The.Derpy.Deed in the group shot can be found here: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198111725577/myworkshopfiles/?appid=383120TX
This base started out as Arch-Barebones Edition by liftallthepizzas.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=820371374&searchtext=ARCH
I have used the barebones version and modified it quite a bit since I started playing. As a matter of fact, liftallthepizzas' YouTube videos are what actually got me to go ahead and install Empyrion in late August or early September of 2017, even though I had purchased it in July. He is also the reason I started building my own stuff and modifying others' blueprints, because his enthusiasm was contagious. Because of that, I named the base with LATP in the name for liftallthepizzas as a thank you. Without him, I may not have spent over 6500 hours playing so far. ;)
The base has an enclosed garden area upstairs and downstairs for a total of 90 plots. The original Arch had a 13 block wide door and I needed the building to be even across the front, to allow for double doors, so I widened the structure by one block, allowing the usage of a 14 block door or combinations of double doors on their side. This version has the largest opening due to the size of doors used, so a lot of smaller CVs and plenty larger HVs and SVs can get inside if need be. For those afraid of spiders getting inside that big door, there are guns inside, but as you can see from the 3rd image, SOME spiders are too big to get in even that door.
The bottom of the base is a solid 2 blocks thick. The original was a single lair with ridges running around. I made it 2 blocks for two reasons. One was the class size actually dropped due to the reduction of triangles needed, the other was in case you want or need to add garden plots, you won't be exposing your plants when you remove a block to add the plots. Also, I like to drop furnaces one block into the floor for appearance reasons and this allows that, should you want to add some downstairs.
The generators are inside small rooms upstairs, while fuel, oxygen, core and wireless are hidden in corners and between support beams.
This version has been heavily equipped withe three furnaces behind a smaller hanger door, 4 advanced constructors with 4 separate storage controllers, two decon units, a clone unit and various other equipment. I use very little actual lighting in most of my builds, so any you feel you need can easily be added, but this build is already a 9(it says 8 but as soon as you plant the gardens, it goes to 9).
Obviously this was made to sit on a shoreline, which explains the windowed wall treatment, but if you're going to place it in deeper water or simply in a flat area, I recommend taking it into creative and adding or taking away pylons as needed.
The CV pictured in some of the images that goes so well with this base is the SRH-1 Avius by Kithid. It is pictured with both a vanilla BP version and one I did some mods to. I suggest getting his version here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1859971977 and checking out his stuff here: https://steamcommunity.com/id/kithid/myworkshopfiles/?appid=383120
You won't be disappointed...
