Astra Base Camp

Introducing the Astra Base Camp Module, the latest build from Filbert Shipyards!

The Astra Base Camp module is designed to work with the Astra Module System. Built to fill two roles, the Base Camp Module can be used as both a High-G dropship for carrying HVs and SVs and as a deployable mobile base for long-duration activities.

The High-G dropship side of the modules function includes enough thrust to lift over 2kt of cargo off of a 5.1G planet! This also includes a small internal hangar and a top-access ramp for carrying larger vessels.

The Base Camp side of the modules function includes production capabilities, 2x 320k cargo systems, fridge/food processor, anti-drone turrets, an Advanced Repair Bay, and of course a Teleporter. On servers where CV TP range is the correct 1ly (has to be custom set) this module can extend the usefulness of your Autominer module by giving it 2x more cargo cap and allows you to teleport between the planet with your autominers deployed and your carrier parked safely at the sun.

To 'deploy' the Base Camp just install 5x large solar panels around the exterior (see pics). With the module in this config it can sit with shields up and turrets on without consuming fuel. That means that you can teleport to and from and not worry about attack or the module running out of fuel!
