Atreus Light Carrier

Introducing the Atreus Light Carrier, the latest build from Filbert Shipyards!

The Atreus is an early-mid game CV designed to serve as a mobile base/carrier capable of holding a lot of cargo and with the hangar and flight deck space for multiple HV's/SV's. The Atreus has been designed for more longevity as it has a system of LCD's (activated via a switch in the repair console room) that explain the upgrades for thrusters, CPU, Gens, and features to try and make the upgrade process as easy as possible.

The idea for the Atreus came from playing with a faction on the Anvil RE Server. Essentially the Atreus is meant to serve a small group (or an individual) as their mobile starter base that can then grow into a mobile mid-game base to facilitate planet-hopping with your SV/HV early-game fleet. This CV will help you grow your fleet and get you into some bigger CV's. The other perk is that once upgraded the thrust (once all of the L thrusters have been added) should provide a cargo lift of around 25kt at 1G meaning this CV (after the upgrades) should get you to High G planets.

The ship itself has all of the amenities a base would normally afford the player in the early-mid game; Advanced constructor, Deconstructor, room for 18 growplots, solar batteries (just put out some panels to charge the battery when you are offline), full medbay, living quarters, repair station, and once upgraded it even has a place to add a repair bay!

I have done some testing (as have my faction mates) on the Anvil RE server, but as this is a mobile base there isn't too much to test beyond adding cargo and warping around a bit. It works great, but remember this is basically a base so it is not designed for heavy combat. The Atreus is shielded and has a few turrets stock, but that is mostly for defense. The generator will spike if you charge the shield while trying to boost in multiple directions, however that shouldn't be an issue as this is not a combat CV so that type of High-G maneuvering is not a common activity...
