Completely rebuilt and re-done for Alpha 10. Wider and substantially shorter footprint and half the grow plots.
Generate free power from the sun! Low-footprint version of the Power Production Plant, this subterranean BA is built for the cultivating of large amounts of plant fibers and for the production of biofuel canisters. This BA was designed with the intent of being used in Survival on hostile worlds where no trees or harvesting capabilities exist or where Promethium is in short supply where this facility can be used as a backup power source. It is also over-designed with a full bank of large solar panels that can produce up to and over 1.6mW of power depending upon world placement which is over triple to nearly quadruple constant power requirements at full load. This base, with its large solar gathering capacity as well as its high oxygen storage, is intended to be a very low-maintenance operation with little attention paid to power levels. It's built to run its growing systems 24x7.
- Energy Output Biofuel canisters are 1/3rd of power compared to standard promethium packs, 1/15th of large promethium packs, and 1/30th of fusion cells. Six levels of 72 grow plots each (for a total of 432) are housed in this structure and can produce 1728 fiber plants, or 172 biofuel canisters, every half hour, or the equivalent of almost 6 fusion cells' worth of power, energy free. One growing room level will yield 288 plant fibers. Those can be converted into 28 biofuel cans, using 10 portable constructors, in under three minutes, or the equivalent power production of 9 promethium packs in under five minutes.
- Production Notes Production of biofuel canisters from fiber plants is done entirely via portable constructors, energy free. The Portable Constructors Room alongside the Main Ops room can be dug and flattened out to hold at least 10 of these comfortably if not up to 15 (refer to picture). 10 portable constructors can produce 60 biofuel cans in under five minutes without consuming any additional base power.
- Storage Five container controllers hold storage of excess biofuel canisters (each holding 3200 for a total of 16k) that can ultimately hold 160k worth of power. A separate food processor and fridge can be placed within Main Ops and can be configured with its own power switch (check signal configuration).
- Power Efficiency Each growth level has its own motion sensor which automatically toggle level lighting. There's also three groups of Grow Lights configured that can be toggled on/off in the Control Panel to save energy if lower levels are not used. A full bank of flat solar panels are housed underneath a layer of armoured glass. They can produce up to and over 1.6mW of power output into 8 solar capacitors. The facility, running all 6 levels of grow lights, with turret power on, consumes just over 500kW (450kW under normal operation without turrets enabled), leaving much excess power going to battery during the day time.
- Structure This facility of made of concrete with armored concrete layering the upper, exposed portions as well as the critical components down below the grow levels. The core is encased in many layers of armored concrete.
Features: - A9 compliant with Wireless connection installed - 5 Container controllers for storing cargo - Pre-setup room for up to and over 10 portable constructors - Pre-configured spot for food processor and fridge, if desired - Internal Sentry turrets and exterior cannon turrets for defense - Double armored doors for entry into Main Ops and Portable Constructors Room - Power-efficient with automatic lighting and biofuel canister energy-free production - Very low maintenance
Spawn instructions: - Using a drone is probably necessary for properly placing the blueprint within the ground to the desired level - Marked area with white line for submersing into the ground - Once spawned, shut main power off, fill with fuel and oxygen, and allow for the base to remain unpowered for one or two game days to allow the solar capacitors some charge - Dig the facility out to the bottom of the 6th level
Spawn requirements: - 10050 Stone Dust - 1435 Silicon - 890 Iron - 306 Copper - 192 Cobalt - 165 Sathium - 104 Carbon Substrate
If you like this blueprint, please give it a Rate Up and leave a comment! I appreciate your feedback and need all the peer review I can get so I can build better and more useful stuff for you guys! Thank you for your time.
