IMPORTANT: The Broadsword blueprint was published to the workshop the day before the anticipated Alpha 6.0 update. Be aware that you may need to retrofit the interior to take advantage of the new features such as pressurization and temperature regulation.
What started as an exercise in complex hull design using layered profiles turned into this: the Broadsword heavy SV. Making liberal use of XXL thrusters and an ample power plant, the Broadsword will get you where you need to go with excellent fuel economy and enough horsepower to get you clear of any dangerous situation.
Featuring a full complement of weapons, the Broadsword can give as well as it can take with clustered barrels and placement taking advantage of the ship's center line crosshairs to deliver accurate salvos at any range.
The interior is intended to be functional, with storage containers, fuel tanks, and cockpit all in close proximity to one another, with the unique cockpit sling design keeping traffic lines between containers clear.
For something that was just supposed to be pretty, the Broadsword is a solid all-around performer. Special note: don't bother trying to dock it behind anything with hangar doors...it just won't fit.
