Carlisle Station is a space station base designed for alpha 11 as part of Xcalibers February challenge.

Carlisle Station is a cheap, easy to build space station, designed to make it easy to repair capital ships without needing to spend exotic resources on a base like optronic bridges and matrixes. At tech level 2 not many rare resources are needed to get the station up and with the exception or iron even with common resources you are looking at only on average around the 300-500 mark. The only material you require a lot of would be iron at about 6000 units, but iron is the most common resource in the galaxy.

Put Carlisle Station in orbit around your home planet and you will never have to worry about getting your capital repaired ever again.

As Carlisle station is such a low tier and is really cheap to build it means that not only is it super easy to get a means of capital repair in standard games, it means that on special scenarios such as Project Eden, or the much larger Galaxy map coming in Alpha 12, that you can treat the station as almost throw away as you need to spend very little in terms of resources to create a base you can keep coming back to every time your prized capital ship is damaged.

Carlisle station is also highly upgradeable with an easy to access core room where you can put extenders as well. So if you do find a corner of the galaxy worth settling down in, you can easily enough upgrade the station for your needs.

Key Features

1. Carlisle Station comes with a repair bay, so if your ship has been damaged over time or after a nasty engagement you can quickly bring it back up to full effectiveness. 2. Production wise the station has an advanced constructor, so if you need to build something important you are not limited in your build options. 3. Carlisle Station has a 80,000 volume storage container and a 24,000 volume storage container for production. As the idea of the concept is that you are only here for a short time to get repaired and this isn't your main base you probably don't need more than that. If you ever do however there is a false wall in the operations room, which if you knock out will let you greatly expand your storage. 4. Carlisle Station comes with 8 cannon turrets giving a strong defence from all sides, including from below or above, this all fed by a 72,000 volume ammo container box. 5. Carlisle Station has a really huge landing pad, easily able to park a large capital vessel. In the screenshots above you can see if with my T4 PVP and exploration vessel comfortably on it the Drake Explorer. The station also has two landing pads on its roof for small vessels to land. 6. The station comes with a full infirmary including a medic station and O2 station for all your medical needs. 7. Food wise you will have access to a food processor and three fridges. 8. The station also has an armor locker letting you change for different circumstances. 9. With fifteen solar panels, a generous amount of fuel tanks and extensive power saving modes used throughout the station, it will be safe to keep it on just tick over for days while you are out exploring. 10. Finally Carlisle Station is designed so that you can easily upgrade it should you choose, with an easy to access core to put core extenders on and space allocated and labelled for a shield generator, pentaxid tank, a large generator and extra room to increase your storage.

Notes

1. After trying this in my live game (as I do with all my designs) found that if you have the solar panels pointing at the sun, it is so energy efficient it can run on solar power purely.
