The CX44 is an experimental build from Spanj Fleet Systems (SFS).
Primarily designed to carry hover vessels quickly around planets, or shuttle them from orbital carrier ships to the surface and visa versa.
Nick named the Mantis for its distinctive look, she is quite versatile in her role as a lifter, variable thrust systems allow pilots to use the correct amount of thrust required to lift the docked vessels saving on fuel usage. At the same time there is more than enough space on the outer pontoons to add additional thrusters if needs be, this means the CX44s upper limit is really up to the owner to determine.
That being said, during testing, the CX44 was able to lift an Archer Assault vehicle (200t tank) whilst using only medium thrust.
The CX44 Mantis is constructed of Carbon Substrate and Steel, does not have a shield generator or a warp drive. Due to the number of thrusters and its size it achieves Tier 3 on the CPU load.
It is highly recommended to keep the CX44 away from combat area's however the vessel is armed with 4 self defence gatling cannons should combat be unavoidable.
Up to 4 passengers can enjoy panoramic views from the rear of the vessel and the on-board construction and storage systems allow for a well equipped voyage.
