GX-303 Wraith

Presenting the GX-303 Wraith, the latest build from Filbert Shipyards!

The GX 303 was built as a replacement for the Lightning Mk II as my official entry in Xcalibers February Anvil Designers Challenge.

The GX-303 Wraith is a combat SV designed for operating in multiple combat situations capable of taking on POIs, Harvesters, and even enemy CVs!

Tested extensively against a multitude of opponents the Wraith is a great SV capable of winning the day against much more powerful opponents when a capable pilot is at the controls. Tested opponents included a range of ground POIs including defense POIs, Drone bases, supply depots, advanced spaceports, and even the Xenu Fortress. When facing tougher opponents like a drone base if you use the terrain to cover your approach and are tactical with your attack you'll find the Wraith more than a match for most enemies.

The other area of testing was against enemy CVs. In testing the Wraith was able to defeat all of the pirate corvettes, the entire Polaris and Trade Guild fleets and every Zirax ship from the Sunat up to and including the Kamirat Battlecarrier. In fact of the enemies i tested the Wraith against the only one that utterly dominated me was the Tovera, for obvious reasons.

I also tested the Wraith against Drone harvesters on Hell planets. Again the 303 did the job well, though i would recommend swapping the forward center plasma cannon for a railgun for popping cores easier for this activity. Also you can remove the RCS in the cabin to maintain CPU compliance when you make the swap for the railgun.

The results of this testing are simple, this is a capable combat SV than can tackle a range of opponents, though what you can do with it will vary greatly based on your tactics and pilot skills. Also i wouldn't recommend CV hunting of larger enemies like battlecarriers and Titan Dreads unless you are a very skilled and fool-hearty pilot ;)

NOTE: This thing is designed to use speed and agility to shield-fight opponents. Watch your shields, when they get low, back off and let them recharge. Also most of the thrust (and all of the boost) is in the forward direction so when i say 'back off' i really mean 'fly to a safe area' because you should always move forward when you aren't strafing or maneuvering to take advantage of all that boost speed!
