Helios Station (RE)

Presenting Helios Station, the latest build from Filbert Shipyards!

Helios Station is a large (size 7) space station hub designed to store and service all of your vehicles, process all of your industrial needs, and care for your crew. Helios Station is the perfect home in Reforged EDEN!

This station was originally designed as a home for the Orion Starkiller CV i posted last week. The Orion was intended as a fast strike CV, and as combat was it's role i soon found need of a place to offload my loot and repair my ship. Helios Station features a large CV landing pad where you can dock your CV's to load/unload supplies and use the T2 repair bay to fix up your attack CV they way you would your HV tank in vanilla.

The large CV landing pad also serves as a surface from which to load/offload SV's and even HV's in space! There is a hangar door built into the landing pad that has a ramp up to it that leads down into the enclosed SV/HV hangar. Reforged essentially requires a fleet of small purpose-built HV's and SV's so the Helios Station is the place to store them!

This station has a 12 large panel solar array backed by 6 capacitors. When placed in the right system the correct distance from the parent star (i place it 3au or less from star) the station can run with the shield on entirely from solar. Some things will need aux power like running the repair bay or charging the shield, but solar can power all standby and many active systems on board!

Helios Station also features Full Industrial Suite of equipment (4 AD constructors, deconstructor, furnace) and 8 320,000 vol storage containers. The station has a full medbay, living quarters, 36 grow plots, a teleporter, and more!

For Defense Helios Station features a T2 Shield and 12 Flak turrets as well as having combat steel armor around the Core and the 4 cargo/fuel/O2 storage 'pods' below the main landing pad. This setup is more than adequate for drone defense (though attack is unlikely I think), though i would hesitate to place it in an openly hostile space populated with enemy orbital patrol CV's... I tend to place stations either in Neutral or friendly systems just to be safe.
