Katydid Luxury HV Laser Driller

The Katydid is designed to be a luxury driller and can also double as a hunting/exploration vehicle. Since the laser drills require level 20, there was little point in worrying about material cost, so this is a bit bigger and more expensive than my usual builds.

This ship is equipped with weapons (2 miniguns and 2 minigun turrets) so you can stay in your HV and easily destroy drones that might be guarding your mineral deposits. Other equipment includes: O2 tanks and dispenser 5 cargo boxes 1 Fridge 1 Mobile Constructor 2 Harvest boxes 2 Ammo boxes 1 Hover booster 6 Laser Drills 1 Drill Turret (to help if you get stuck)

Spotlights and regular lights are angled to light up the ship and the area at night for easy hunting or plant gathering.

The constructor, fridge, cargo, harvest, and ammo boxes are grouped together so they're easy to find in the control panel.

A custom switch allows you to shut off the front hover engines, which will tilt the ship forward into the ground so you can easily start drilling.

Other custom switches allow you to switch off the drill turret when not in use, and --for those concerned with fuel efficiency-- a bunch of extra thrusters and RCSs that you might want to only use while you're drilling.

There is also plenty of interior space left (19 blocks worth) if there are other things you want to add, like more cargo or extra constructors. (But beware adding more weight will affect performance.)

The walls were built with thin blocks to keep the ship's mass down, so do not fly this into heavy combat.

Hint: when drilling a tunnel be sure to turn left and right a bit to keep the tunnel widened out. If you get stuck in your tunnel, wiggling left and right will help you get back out.
