Limpet X2

Introducing the Limpet X2, the latest build from Filbert Shipyards!

The Limpet X2 is a Frigate-class combat CV designed to serve as a carrier support ship. The Limpet is built around the same 'Claymore' design configuration as its predecessors combining a mix of materials, lagshot armor, and traditional armor to create a combat CV that can fight well above its weight class. Coming in at only 3.6kt but still boasting a hardened steel hull with combat steel bow and steel core, the Limpet is light enough to ride easily atop the Quickstrike carrier.

Combat tested on the Anvil RE server, the Limpet has taken out Sunat, Periat, Imerat, and even Kameriat CV's! I have also tested the Limpet against several Zirax POI's including the Orbital Spire. The combination of balanced armor, small size, weapons package, and maneuverability create a rather effective combat CV that will likely surprise you with what it can do!

The entire focus of the design of the Limpet is to serve as a Carrier Support Frigate, so it is a balance of function, size, and firepower. This also means the Limpet has a couple extra features the Claymore does not. The Limpet has a teleporter so that it can be used as a planetary shuttle with the Quickstrike in orbit, and a pair of recessed and armored mining lasers to provide for occasional CV asteroid mining. Combining the combat function of a combat CV with mining lasers allowed me to harvest valuable resources in dangerous situations without having to put my mobile base (and all it's precious cargo) in harms way to do it!
