Omen - Reforged Eden 2

Built for Reforged Eden 2 (Beta) Created for the Anvil Designer's Challenge September 2024

The Omen is a Medium sized Cruiser thats is built to disarm and core Legacy ships. It ignores fixed heavy weapons in favor of the heavy cruise missile turrets. Its also full of RP.

For coreing it does include a LX-2 Thor Experimental Railgun. Battle tactics should always be to defang targets and, if possible, shoot out thrusters to stop them before going for cores. Even though you can also try to snipe out the core on moving ships, if you feel to be a mighty enough pilot to achieve that.

The Omen, out of the box, is a semi capable Armor Tank. The Armor is enough to tank all legacy ships without shield, if you go for their turrets. Long term it can be upgraded into a heavy shield tank. To ease repairing it does come with an Astra Module bay, to add a repair module for self repairing after combat.

The ship can be upgraded, with upgrade points including space for a full shield setup, 12 MX Torp launchers (for arguably easier coreing) and a couple additional turret positions. It does however not have any foreseen space for fixed heavy weapons.

Fighting: Note that if you are fighting on Armor, the decoys are above the bridge. So be sure you adapt your flying to not fly upwards too much, or projectiles that trail you might hit the bridge and kick you out at some point. If you need to do maneuvers, prefer doing downwards or sidewards movements. A couple stray hits on the bridge will be fine, it is heavily armored.

Warning: The ship makes heavy use of signal logic to control internal light and effect emmiters. If those start bugging out in multiplayer, please blame Eleon. And feel free to drop in the Bug report thread in the forum to tell them to please fix the issue.
