PMW-CV-MCRN Koan (lvl 25 Frigate SC5 8core REFORGED)

Vanilla available too! Pear's Motor Works proudly presents this prototype for the Martian Navy, the Koan frigate! What if the Roci had to be build according to the Empyrion universe?! This compact hardened steel CV frigate is very manoeuvrable, very upgradable and should be plenty to get you from mid game to end game in Reforged(Eden)! Made for the Anvil Designers Challenge of October; Expanse themed builds. The Anvil is a gaming community hosted by Xcaliber__ and consists of the nicest builders and Empyrion fanatics! The Koan is named after the battle of Kõan, Japan 1281AD. During this battle the first mention of Kamikaze was done; the storm winds that destroyed the invading Mongolian Kublai Kahn fleet of Yuan. It's a symbol of fighting off invading armies with ease, because the wind gods were on their side.

In the cargo hold and engineering areas in the back of the vessel there are plenty of spots to install upgrades rather safely. The cargo hold is able to fit a long range radar. In the production room there is a spot on the floor marked, to install a 9th core. As is this ship is fairly lightly armed when it comes to it's turrets. This allows you to upgrade this ship's weaponry as you go, for your endgoal/task. The fixed weapons are meant to chip away shields quickly and artillery to finish the job. There are 3 cockpits, the artillery 'turrets' also house a cockpit and have a side exit for quick space hoppings. The flight characteristics are also tailored to support manual fire; very nimble through it's RCSs, but not a lot of strafing thrust. if you cant leave a planet with the vertical thrust, use the rear thrusters! This ship was designed to try and get close to flight characteristics like they display in the Expanse series; quick turning high G moves are possible! Allmost all thruster placements allow for more thrusters on that spot, thrust is easily boost-able in all directions! Front of the vessel is quite disposable and houses 5 small generators to attract incoming fire. The rear houses the more important devices and most cargo. An idle mode is available in the P menu, to safe fuel when stationairy. This mode also gets activated if somebody is not (yet) seated; all thrusters turn off. You can assign the signal 'power' to devices to shut them down with the idle mode.
