Scarab Shuttle

Introducing the Scarab Shuttle!

This new SV creation from Filbert Shipyards was inspired by the engine design of the Starstrider IV CV build that i recently posted to the workshop. The Scarab is meant to serve as a starter SV in its default configuration but has also been designed to be upgraded with space to add a T3 CPU, more RCS, shield (the base model already has the pentaxid tank installed to be shield ready) and more weapons!

In my testing this ship flew wonderfully and served the role of starter in every way, in fact it is a superior ship (in my opinion) to the Bullfrog Shuttle; that's not exclusively opinion either, the Scarab costs less, has a lower unlock level, has more weaponry out of the box and greater ammo cap than the Bullfrog while still maintaining a similar size (slightly longer than the Bullfrog shuttle but also shorter than the bullfrog).

During my test i also created a 'Scarab Shuttle Upgrade Kit' blueprint to give all of the upgrade components so the SV could be upgraded without needing a constructor. I saw someone do something similar for the MCRN Interceptor SV and loved the idea, i wont be posting the blueprint but it is simple enough to make if you want to try it: Upgrade kit included: Core (required for blueprint), T3 CPU x2, SV Shield, 2x Rocket launchers (or whatever weapon you prefer), 2x Gatling turret (for top mounting) and 1x RCS with 1x1 shutter door (to replace the T2 CPU and cover it) Made for a cheap way to upgrade the ship. Not always useful as you still need to find 4 small optronic bridges to fill the BP, but sometimes you get lucky with a loot crate in a burial chamber or POI and end up with them before you have an AD constructor. In this case, an upgrade kit is really handy!

The Scarab Shuttle is an excellent starter SV that is more than capable of swatting drones and is pretty cheap to boot! Decent cargo capacity, loads of fuel and O2 capacity will give you a large operational range for scouting, exploring and hunting!

There are marked spots for CPU T3 upgrade and then a spot for adding a Shield. The T2 CPU extended can be removed (after the T3 CPU upgrade) and an RCS put in its place. There are spots for two more weapons for a total of 4 forward mounted weapon slots. All of the F, B, and D thrusters can be upgraded (after T3 CPU upgrade) to T2 M thrusters. There is also room to add two more turrets on top of the engine 'winglets' where the 'circle x' is marked.
