Splinter (T3 L25 CV) Miner & Salvager Profession Starter CV

Tier-3, Size-1, Unlock Level 25, Armoured Profession-Starter CV for Miners & Salvagers.

I've used, and still use, this extremely versatile ship in several solo and community gamesaves. She has immense lifting and forward thrust with above average lateral and retro thrust. Designed from the ground up as a dual-role miner and salvager, she boasts 320k cargo and 320k harvest arrays built-in, in addition to a further 9 storage boxes, lage ammo storage, 2 fridges and food processor. She's designed for solo or duo play.

Small, fast, highly manouevrable, moderately armed & well armoured, profession-starter with shield, pentaxid tank, warp drive, teleporter, and tier-3 CPUs.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Hardened (combat steel) hull design supported by a tier-1 Polarised Hull Shield plus higher than typical turret count for her size (Corvette+ armament level), coupled with high thrust and acceleration, plus outstanding agility, gives the Splinter excellent escape and evade capability. Pilot firepower is from 4 fixed Rocket Launchers between the mining drills.

The extra range of the homing missile turrets and rapid-firing pulse laser turrets keep orbital patrol ships and drone swarms at bay, while the combat steel armour and T-1 shield give Splinter the time to cruise out of the threat area.

Splinter has a chin-mounted retractable tool-turret for rapid salvaging as well as repairing friendly ships.

This ship is built around a 5-compartment design. Starting with a hardened cockpit in the bow that has best-in-class all-round visibility, there is the main storage accesses and protected Core just aft of the cockpit. Midships is the production and medical areas at the head of the boarding ramp. Aft of the work areas is a sealed accomodation zone with all crew facilities and the ammo storage access. Finally, in the stern compartment is the shield and warp centre, which also houses the teleporter and many of the storage cargo boxes.

New pilots should note that they need to be gentle on the throttle until they are familiar with the ship - her acceleration has surprised many pilots who lost control and crashed into station facilities.
