The Pacific geoduck (“gooey-duck”; /ˈɡuːiˌdʌk/; Panopea generosa) is a species of very large saltwater clam in the family Hiatellidae. The geoduck is native to the coastal waters of western Canada and the northwest United States. The shell of the clam ranges from 15 cm (6 inches) to over 20 cm (8 inches) in length, but the extremely long siphons make the clam itself much longer than this: the "neck" or siphons alone can be 1 m (3.3 feet) in length. The geoduck is the largest burrowing clam in the world. It is also one of the longest-living animals of any type, with a typical lifespan of 140 years; the oldest has been recorded at 168 years old. Now that we have that cleared up, on to the sales pitch. SSW's engineers loved the shape of the Abalone and while it checked all the boxes for a starter CV, we couldn't help but scratch the itch of continuous improvement. We think this is an improvement of the Abalone in all aspects.

There is CPU overhead and space above the Warp drive for a Tool or additional weapon turret. We have also provided two (2) already-hardened locations for additional medium thrusters amidships. The Geoduck will handle 3G planets without issue, but empty will only manage 3 m/s upward thrust on a 4G planet. DO NOT attempt to land on 4 or 5G planets without the extra thrusters.

SSW now has a dedicated integrity testing group due to the new explosion mechanics of Reforged 1.4. Internal armor enables ALL thrusters behind the Warp drive to explode without affecting the rest of the ship. In fact, all thrusters can be destroyed without chaining the internals. You can rest assured this flying clam is robust enough to absorb some hits.

The Geoduck handles very well and is actually fun to fly out of the box. The interior also has three (3) single-block spaces available for any extra equipment you might want to add. All major systems are switchable in the ship's Control Panel. An Economy mode shuts off all thrusters, weapons, and production equipment to save fuel with LCD notification.
