SSW Mattock Mk2 - Reforged Agile Destroyer

SSW presents our most capable, hardest-hitting Combat CV yet - the Mattock Mk2! This is an agile destroyer capable of handling just about any threat in the game. Borrowing the front half from the original SSW Mattock combat explorer, the rest of the ship is all new and incorporates our latest engineering and design. The Mattock Mk2 is a 2.1 million CPU, SC 3, unlock lvl 25 combat CV designed for Reforged Galaxy/Eden and comes standard with:

20 T1 Turrets (6 Positron, 6 Missile, 4 Laser, 2 Flak, and 2 Minigun) Four (4) Advanced Laser Cannons (to aid in stripping shields) Two (2) Multiple Rocket Launchers (for coring disabled vessels) LOTS of thrust Two (2) 320k Ammo controllers Advanced Shield with 4 Large Capacitors and 2 Large Chargers (20k hp and 200 recharge rate) Standard Warp drive Additional labeled cargo for Fuel, Pentaxid, and Miscellaneous supplies Detector, Wireless (x2), BioMedical chamber, Oxygen station, Freezer, Armor Locker Glass Shower Gang™ approved Rear landing pad Our patented EZ-Board™ ramp

The Mattock Mk2 flies like a dream - use the Upthrusting Corkscrew (SPACE + Q or E) and you will avoid most non-hitscan incoming fire. The Mattock Mk2 has taken out all flavors of Zirax ships in testing in both SP and on the Anvil MP server with nearly zero block damage - your costs to operate will almost exclusively come down to ammo resupply. Internal components are protected from external damage and internal chaining via use of strategic Xenosteel and Heavy Window reinforcement, allowing both added strength and weight savings.

Once you bag some lower-end Zirax OPVs and have access to the T2 turrets, you'll find the dedicated spacing for Quantum Extenders or Aux CPU blocks in the rear very useful. Ample interior space for additional generators or the larger Shield Capacitor Bank is available. Possible upgrades include:

Warp drive can be upgraded to the Advanced version (highly recommended to reduce Pentaxid use or dock to a carrier of some sort like the Trineo/TrineoXL, Astra, Aurora, Helios, or Mojura) Artillery cannons can replace or even augment the Heavy rockets (remove the top antenna on each upper pod) or add additional Laser Cannons Turret upgrades to T2 versions as you see fit Detector replaced with Long Range Radar (ceiling-mount above Shield gen)

Loadouts are flexible for fighting Zirax, Legacy, or Drone targets. Due to the rebalancing of turrets in Reforged 1.7, total turret count is now downfrom the previous version. There are five dorsal and two ventral locations for additional turrets of choice. With the substitution of Zirax turrets, the Mattock Mk2 also makes a great Hell/high-grav planet Drone/POI hunter as well. Plasma turrets were removed due to vastly increased CPU and terrible performance on MP servers. You're welcome to add them back in for SP use.

We have included a small rear landing pad for an SV (like the new SSW Mhanga) to aid in coring, recovery, mining, or transport duties. No Tactical Farm, no Hangar Bay, no cushy crew quarters - this is a dedicated combat CV.
