SSW has developed several micro CVs for starter and emergency use. This is the Rockhopper 3, a Tier 1 level 12 unlock with just the basics and a Warp drive.
Needed Neodymium is less than 750 and it will still haul you and your stuff off-planet or back to your base in the event you keep one of these in your factory for emergencies. Basic survival features are:
72k Storage controller 16k and 8k Cargo boxes Warp drive and Pentaxid tank Detector, Wireless, Fridge, Food Processor, Armor Locker
Designed to be easy to gather the resources for and capable of getting you off-world in a hurry (passenger seats can be added for extra friends), the Rockhopper 3 isn't designed to fight but it can take a bit of damage. All thrusters are isolated so losing one or more won't completely vaporize the ship (Reforged 1.4 has some rather ... explosive changes to detonation results). All Steel construction and nearly 1kt lift means it can get out of its own way.
Some deco blocks on the roof can be removed to allow placement of a single full size turret. There are also flat spaces for Sentry guns available around the hull. Replacing one of the two cargo boxes with either an Ammo controller or Small/Large Ammo box OR simply replacing the Container controller with an Ammo controller are required for weapon usage.
