Story:

While conducting routine patrols throughout B-class stars in the M32 region of Andromeda Space, The Hero mysteriously vanished without a trace. Multiple reconnaissance patrols were dispatched to the last known location of The Hero, to a B3 classed star near the center of M32. None of the patrols returned.

Months later, while assaulting Legacy forces in the Necrotic Expanse, a faint signal was discovered. Further inquiry revealed the signal matched last known IFF codes The Hero had been assigned upon it's fatal mission. Imperium Military forces were dispatched to recover the vessel and investigate any causes of the vessels initial disappearance. The ship appeared to have picked up an artifact of unknown origin - assumed to be a Legacy Artifact - that seemed to be slowly corrupting the human-designed ship into something else...

...And that's enough ripping off the Event Horizon storyline.

Functionality:

The Defiler is a remastered, retrofitted, endgame design, based upon "The Hero" originally by ArtemisRouge. The Defiler was designed for the Anvil server, however functions within standard Reforged limitations with minor tweaking. Maximal functionality is attained in a 10 Aux, 10 Quant, 10 Hamster, 1 Dyson Core, environment.

This warship has an entirely disposable nose extending as far back as the amidships shield generator. Chain reactions are nearly nonexistent and all sections minimize catastrophic losses, improving on the original design in multiple places. A composite blend of Xeno, Steel, and Combat Steel encase multiple decoys (thrusters, generators) in the nose and offer protection for the functional turret decoys internal and external to the forward nose.

The Defiler offers the following in a base configuration: - 104 Demarcated Turret Hardpoints - 12 Manual Weapon Hardpoints

- 5 T3 Shield Array - 6 T2 Shield Banks

- 3x 320k Ammo Storage - 3x 320k Storage - 1x 320k Harvest Container - Multiple 16k containers

- 2 Full Medical Suites - 2 Fusion Reactors - Secure Quant, Aux and Hamster (or bonus aux/quant) storage

- 4 Hardened RTG banks (Hangar)

Upgrade Path:

Under a full 10/10/10/1 setup, the following options are available Replace Adv Shield Gen with Bastion Shield Gen Add 2x T2 Should Coupling to Bridge bridge Alternatively - Remove deco blocks behind front bridge glass, install 1 Shield Charging Array Multiple Weapon emplacement options (Thermal lances, highly encouraged!) Internal Nose compartment - Remove cone, replace with Disruptor External Nose, top - Remove half dome, replace with Disruptor (or Artillery - suggest removing 2-3 more blocks for arty)

Credit:

Production of this vessel could not have been completed without expert consults from multiple people. Thanks to the following people or persons: ArtemisRouge - For greenlighting this project, and expert guidance on fixing chain reactions. Stan2112 - For expert consults on design aspects and helping fix overlooked errors. St_HotPants - For going where no man has gone before! And battletesting the prototypes in the most extreme of situations. sulusdacor, Allessia, and Seinnd - Amazing LCD that I repurposed.

Please feel free to leave questions, comments, or otherwise in the comments below! If you like this ship (or don't) there's a thumbs up (or down) above! Enjoy!
