The Exeter is a new brand of Combat ship, bringing together every tactical and practical aspect of combat ship design into a single upgradeable platform for the ultimate Captaining experience from beginning to end-game.
The ship is a transformable platform, switching seamlessly back and forth from a Main-ship dual-thruster arrangement with Long range Warp capabilities and enhanced scanning, to a Carrier-launched weapons-enhanced mode for defeating larger, more rewarding targets w/ an additional 220k CPU.
The Exeter upgrades from an extremely able precision corer as a Core9, to a full 10/10 200k+ shield Super-ship w/ very admirable speed and handling at the very highest efficiency possible, for maximum weapons and shield allocations. Featuring all 8 Small & medium shield extenders, and as many as 5 Arrays, all integrated into a single Easy-access upgrade hall.
Every Explosive component on the Exeter is explosion-buffered from neighboring components, making the ship completely chain-reaction proofed. The ship has forward ablative armor, a combat steel hardened cockpit for Legacy actions, an all-encompassed 5-decoy-type armored nose w/ bifurcated decoy lines to hold off disruptor fire longer than traditional monohull designs, as well as multiple forward explosion buffer-walls built into it's nose.
The ship is made for all 3 aspects of the Combat Trifecta, it will take on Legacy ships as a Core-9, it can dodge & maneuver at the required speeds for enhanced Shield-sparring, and it is agile enough and containing the proper decoy lines for nose-to-nose precision coring and Zero-distance grappling.
The Exeter has mounting positions for over 60 turrets and 20+ manual weapons. Including 12 Forward-facing zirax turret mounts for Optimal Gamma or Infrared Turret performance. The ship has user friendly features including Weapon-Mount Combat Bull-blocks, so that if you lose your manual weapons, their mounting points are easy to identify, allowing you to replace your manual weapons before a full station repair, saving you money early in your playthrough when fighting legacy. Entry and Egress to the ship is simple and intuitive, with a single main hall for all of the ship's upgrades, and a single elevator line connecting the ships high-use compartments, oxygen flow to the cockpit is isolated and the cockpit itself is enscorced in full combat steel blocks, armor buffers between your manual weapons and your cockpit section are present, making it incredibly unlikely to suffer an airlock breach or be damaged in your seat even when under heavy fire.
The ship features includes Captain's orders with relevant locations for upgrade components and suggestions of enemy targets for the easiest and most effective upgrade paths through the game.
With 4 x 320k, 48 Solar panels, and pre-programmed Weapons-off, Shield/Radar ON shortcuts, the ship will fly, & scan, with shield / miniguns ON at 1.7 KW, for over 4 days ( 6000 minutes ) on a single tank, the Exeter is an exceedingly efficient cruiser with generous fuel capacity due to its late-game upgrade capacity.
The Exeter is easy to spawn in, with almost no special parts or resources, it comes standard with an Advanced Warp, and Long range scanner, needing only 50 platinum & 1 advanced kit, but even these can be removed from the blueprint and the ship modified as a Carrier-launched variant w/ enhanced weapon CPU, no kit requirements, and no platinum requirement, either. This ship is ultra-upgradable, ultra-accessible, Variable, & exceedingly easy to spawn in, built in full Combat steel with no Xeno requirements. It's thruster upgrade slots are marked and easily identifiable, It requires no silver, no magmacite, no large kits, no schematics, and no crew. Upgrade recommendations to increase its abilities with these resources are included in your Captain's orders, including vendor and enemy locations to acquire them.
If looks could kill, The Exeter wouldn't need to fight, but an ultra-efficient combination of 12 Manual Lasers and the Big Boom of 6 Manual artillery Cannons put the Exeter in a class of it's own as an All-purpose force-multiplier Core9, and one of the only ships on the workshop that is both a powerful Core9 and upgrades seamlessly to a Stellar End-game combat platform.
Take the fight to the Enemy in The Exeter today, Captain.
On December 31st The Exeter was modified, it now holds Dual-Fusion Cores ( 2 ) & features a top SV flight deck.
