Various quality of life changes to the Remote View interface.

This mod improves remote view in the following ways:

  1. Removes the border, but leaves the top bar intact. This should give full functionality in Remote View without the annoying border.
  2. Pressing Escape will no longer close remote view. Now, you can save the game and do other menu-related actions without leaving remote view.

Both settings can be toggled in the mod options menu. Remove Border can't be done per player because it's set in the data stage, but the escape change is per player.

This mod can't be used with Factorio 2.0 because it relies on the new toggle_menu_leaves_remote_view variable added in 2.1

FAQ

Escape still cancels my remote view when I'm currently boarded on a space platform! Is this a bug?

I reported it as a bug (see here: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?p=699121). The developers concluded it was "not a bug" despite clearly being inconsistent and unexpected behaviour. I fundamentally disagree with their position on this, but there's not much that can be done about it.
