📖 Overview

This mod introduces electric-powered versions of the boiler and heating tower, allowing you to produce steam at various temperatures and adjust heat output without burning fuel.

• Electric Boiler: Produces 100°C / 165°C / 350°C / 500°C steam using electricity. Rated power: 4MW.
• Electric Heating Tower: Heats up to 350°C / 500°C / 800°C using electricity, with heat pipe connectivity. Rated power: 40MW.

> ⚠️ These buildings are heat producers only and do NOT generate electricity.

⚡ Key Features

🔥 Multi‑Temperature Modes

Both buildings support multiple temperature settings. There are two ways to cycle through them:

1. Hotkey switching – simply hover your mouse cursor over the building (do not open its GUI) and press Numpad +. Each press cycles to the next temperature mode.
2. Upgrade Planner – use a green upgrade planner to upgrade buildings to higher‑temperature variants (see details below).

• Electric Boiler: 100°C → 165°C → 350°C → 500°C
• Electric Heating Tower: 350°C → 500°C → 800°C

> 💡 Note: The hotkey works on the building itself – no need to open the entity interface.

🔄 Smart Switching

When you switch temperature modes:

• 🔧 Modules are preserved – any modules installed are transferred automatically.
• ⭐ Quality is preserved – works with Space Age quality system.

📦 Build Menu

Only the default variants appear in the build menu:

• Electric Boiler (165°C) – researched under Steam Power technology.
• Electric Heating Tower (500°C) – researched under Heating Tower technology.

Other temperature variants are unlocked via Upgrade Planner (greenprint) or Hotkey Switching.

🔧 Upgrade Planner Support

Use the Upgrade Planner (greenprint) to automatically upgrade buildings:

• Electric Boiler: 100°C → 165°C → 350°C → 500°C
• Electric Heating Tower: 350°C → 500°C → 800°C

> ⚠️ The upgrade planner only upgrades to higher temperatures; it cannot downgrade to lower ones.

🐞 Known Issues

The following limitations exist in the current version (1.2.1) and are not yet fixed:

1. No downgrade via upgrade planner – you cannot use the upgrade planner to downgrade an Electric Boiler from 165°C to 100°C, nor an Electric Heating Tower from 500°C to 350°C. (Hotkey switching still works both ways, however.)

1. Heat‑pipe connection break on tower switching – when you change the temperature mode of an Electric Heating Tower using Numpad +, the heat‑pipe connections may periodically break. If this happens, you need to re‑place the affected heat pipes. The author has not found a fix for this yet and apologises for the inconvenience.
