About No Nuke Scorch Redux

From Factorio Mod Portal

This mod removes the nuke scorches on the map and world

No Nuke Scorch Redux

Keep nuclear explosions without leaving scorched ground behind. Updated for Factorio 2.1, with support for vanilla and modded weapons that use the standard nuclear effects.

Space Age is optional.

What changes

  • Prevents nuclear ground tiles and nuclear ground patches.
  • Removes huge scorch mark entities, including their tintable variant.
  • Supports modded rockets, artillery, ammunition, and mines that use the standard nuclear effects.

Explosions still deal damage. Their sounds, visual effects, and cliff destruction remain intact.

With Space Age enabled:

| Location | Nuclear terrain behavior | | --- | --- | | Nauvis, Gleba, Fulgora | No nuclear ground, ground patches, or huge scorch marks. | | Vulcanus | Lava creation is preserved. | | Aquilo | Ammonia oceans and brash ice creation are preserved. | | Space platforms | Nuclear tile damage is preserved. |

The mod prevents effects from future detonations. It does not repair existing scorched terrain or remove existing scorch marks.

Mod compatibility

Weapons that reuse the standard nuclear ground and huge scorch effects are covered automatically. Mods with custom scorch effects may need separate compatibility support.
