Quick Swap

Stop searching through your inventory whenever you need a different belt, pipe, or electric pole. Quick Swap lets you switch the item in your hand instantly with the mouse wheel.

Controls

• Shift + Mouse Wheel
• Cycle between transport belts, underground belts, and splitters
• Swap between pipes and underground pipes
• Step through available electric poles

• Ctrl + Mouse Wheel
• Change the tier of the currently held belt
• Example: Yellow → Red → Blue → Turbo

All controls can be rebound in Settings → Controls.

Item Handling

During normal character gameplay, Quick Swap only selects items that are actually available in your inventory. If the target item is available in multiple qualities, the highest-quality version is selected. The original cursor stack is safely returned to your inventory.

In map and remote view, available items are determined by recipes unlocked for your force instead of inventory contents. The existing remote cursor quality is preserved.

Compatibility

Quick Swap does not rely on hard-coded item names. It identifies supported items by their placed entity type and, for belts, their actual belt speed. This allows it to work naturally with:

• Factorio 2.0+
• Space Age
• Compatible mods that add belts, pipes, or electric poles

No additional dependencies or configuration are required.

> Install the package that matches your Factorio version. The 2.0 and 2.1 packages use the same internal mod name and should not be enabled together.
