Each planet's terrain generation is changed to a projection onto hyperbolic space (the Poincaré disk) or Flat (default world gen with limited planet size).
It likely requires Infinite Resources to be playable if playing with hyperbolic projection, but this is kept as an optional dependency in case players have another solution. Without any supplementary mods, the tiny resource patch sizes are likely to exhaust quickly; all terrain features are heavily compressed.
When using Flat projection the patch sizes get bigger as you get farther from spawn and the terrain features are not compressed, but this still provides the challenge of limited resources.
Modded planets are automatically supported unless the mod relies on scripted positions or terrain. If the planet has direct support there will be a setting for the planets size, and if its not then it will be set to the default size. Credits:
