Dandy's Hellraiser Base (DHRB) is a weapon base for Garry's Mod. It provides the shared systems used by Hellraiser: Revival Weapons, and can be used to make separate weapon packs with their own models, sounds and settings.
For players Subscribe to this base and the weapon pack you want to use. Preview footage uses Hellraiser: Revival Weapons. The base supplies shared code, effects, sounds and UI; the Hellraiser guns, melee weapons and cube come from the weapons pack. Settings are under Q > Options > Dandy's Hellraiser Base (DHRB). To keep the standard interface, choose HUD > Interface > Standard GMod, or enter hr_hud 0 in the console. Individual HUD settings are kept when switching back.
Latest update
- The hands setting now hides player hands when turned off. It no longer restores Aidan's arms.
Languages: Russian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, French, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, plus English. Linux Chinese, Japanese and Korean menus use English because of Source font limitations; their guides remain translated. The separate API references remain English.
Previous update
- Fixed left-click confirmation when choosing a second weapon while holding the wheel key. Releasing the key still works.
- Updated the pairing hint in all supported languages.
- Fixed a shared data-loading failure that could stop weapon initialization on multiplayer servers.
- Cube pairing through the wheel, hand swapping and compact control hints. Separating a pair keeps ammo and fitted upgrades.
- Side-mounted wheel with hover selection, scrolling and release to equip.
- Fixed the first-person torso leaning into rifles and SMGs.
- Added a first-person body and legs that follow your player model and movement. On by default; turn it off under Options > DHRB > Weapons > First-person body. Requires a supported humanoid skeleton.
- Added clear Interface choices at the top of HUD options. Choose Standard GMod to keep the normal health, armor, ammo, crosshair and weapon selection. Weapons still work, and switching back keeps your individual HUD settings. This choice only affects you.
Weapon tuning and execution options
- Added host/admin damage, recoil and fire-rate controls under Weapon tuning. Shotgun pump timing follows the selected rate for single and dual guns.
- Added an option to make all compatible attachments available without pickups. Collected and fitted parts are kept when it is turned off.
- Added an option for NPCs to ignore execution participants.
- Added a single-player world freeze during executions. Moving entities and native grenade fuses resume afterward; cancellation and player death also restore the world. Disabled in multiplayer.
- Added HUD size, font and text/reticle color controls with an appearance reset. Health and warning colors are retained.
Attachment access and both execution options are off by default. Recoil and fire rate default to 1; the existing damage default remains 2.5. Freeze does not pause independent addon timers, client particles or existing sounds.
Included systems
- Guns, melee weapons, recoil, aiming, magazine and shell reloads, upgrades, weapon charms and durability.
- Matching or mixed gun pairs with independent triggers, ammo and upgrades. Matching pickups can form a pair. The wheel switches between single and dual wielding, and single pistols offer one-handed or two-handed grips.
- Throw spare ammunition or loaded magazines to players and friendly NPCs. The rounds come from your carried ammo.
- Player-model hands, weapon wheel, ammo display, hit markers, muzzle lighting, smoke and physical casings.
- Execution profile registration, damage effects, dismemberment and weapon-noise hooks.
- Server-controlled ammunition and damage, with predicted firing for the owning player.
Controls
- Hold middle mouse or T for the wheel. Move toward a category, scroll its weapons and release to equip. Keys 1–4 choose categories.
- With fast switching disabled, scrolling opens the wheel. Left click equips; right click cancels.
- In the wheel, R chooses a carried partner or separates a pair. Click or release the wheel key to confirm a partner. G changes a single pistol's grip or the cube hand.
- Dual guns: left click fires the left gun; right click fires the right gun. Hold either button to keep firing. R reloads.
- H throws spare ammo. The wheel offers X for spare ammo and Z for loaded ammo; the quick key can be rebound.
- Hold the upgrades key shown on the HUD to open upgrades. Key bindings and HUD elements can be changed in Options.
Compatibility Models need appropriate sequences, attachments and hand bones. Registering an execution does not create its animations. Stock GMod weapons do not automatically become DHRB weapons. Custom player skeletons and gamemodes may need their own integration. The existing hr_* settings and weapon classes are retained for the Hellraiser pack. The default damage multiplier is 2.5; authors should account for it when choosing base damage.
Hellraiser game assets belong to Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games. DHRB is an unofficial fan project.
