ADDON

WHAT IS THIS? This addon is the Infinite Map Engine: the code that streams a foreign game's world into Garry's Mod at scale. Terrain regions, every building and doodad, grass, water, lava, zone music and ambience, the source game's own lighting, collision and elevators are assembled around you in real time from a data set addon, on a void map, with chunk shifting on all three axes so a whole continent fits Source's coordinate range. It is pure code: it does nothing on its own.

REQUIREMENTS? One or more IME data set addons and their game's shared pack. Currently published: • Silkroad Online: IME\\SRO Shared Assets and the region maps Jangan, Donwhang, Hotan, Samarkand, Alexandria, Arabia, Constantinople, Roc Mountain, God Wreck. • World of Warcraft (1.12.1): 🧩 IME\WoW Shared Files, the Eastern Kingdoms continent and every dungeon, raid and battleground of the era as its own map (Shadowfang Keep to Naxxramas; search the Workshop for "IME\WoW").

ANYTHING ELSE? Use /ime in game for the settings panel (view distance, streaming, sky, water, lights, effects, sound), the teleport map (admins) and the world report. Every data set ships its own tuned defaults; your changes save per map and the World tab's Dataset defaults button returns to the shipped ones. Maps are listed under their game's category.

FOR MAP MAKERS: WHAT A DATA SET DECLARES A data set addon registers itself from its autorun with IME_RegisterDataset(name, {root=, mat=, sound=}) - the data root under data_static (sro_data, wow_data), the material root and the sound root - and ships data_static/<root>/terrain/manifest_<name>.json. The engine honours these manifest keys: • title, subtitle - the load screen; loadscreen + loadscreen_aspect - a material painted behind the load bar (the game's own splash, letterboxed to its aspect); the same picture as maps/thumb/<map>.png is the menu thumbnail. • center, regions, pin, landmarks - the region grid, what stays resident, what is drawn from afar. • spawn [rx, ry, lx, ly, (z)] - where players start, with an optional height for entrances inside buildings. • zshift - chunk shifting on Z as well as X/Y for worlds taller than the void box. • move {step, slope, bare_floors} - the game's movement rules: step height, walkable slope, whether bare obstacle tops count as floors. • instance - an enclosed map: no terrain occluder, all regions pinned. • game, root, mat, hu_per_yd - identity and scale. Beside the manifest: settings_<name>.json (shipped defaults for every ime_* setting), env_<name>.json (per-area sky, horizon, fog, sun, cloud colours and density, water colours, keyframed over the day), zones_<name>.json (area names, music and ambience), lights_<name>.json, movers_<name>.json (elevators and transports) and grass_<name>.json. The region files carry terrain, the atlas tile per cell, blend overlays, holes, grass and liquid blocks by kind (water, ice, lava, slime); the collision files carry the game's own walkable faces and walls.
