Interactive Cigarette

An interactive smoking SWEP for Garry's Mod, with animated c_hands, client-side smoke and a fictional nicotine dependence system.

Features

• Keep the cigarette in your mouth while using another weapon.
• Quick puffs and deep drags with smoke, a glowing tip and an exhale sound.
• Completed drags of at least half a second restore 5 HP, capped at your maximum health. Tiny clicks and overdoses do not heal.
• Five minutes of idle burn time. Deep drags consume additional tobacco.
• Falling ash and ignition from nearby active fires or burning physics props.
• Holding a drag for more than four seconds causes coughing, temporary blur and 2 HP damage.
• Nicotine dependence builds through repeated completed drags. A break brings gradual craving and mild visual desaturation; dependence recovers over time.

Controls

Left mouse: inhale; release to exhale. Right mouse: light or extinguish. Reload: move between hand and mouth. With another weapon equipped, Alt + left mouse inhales while the cigarette is in your mouth.

Hold Use (E by default) while releasing a drag of at least half a second: exhale smoke rings. Shift + Reload (R by default), with the cigarette selected: discard it. A spent cigarette is discarded automatically.
