NFS - GMOD

Need for Speed tuning and GTA Online garages for Garry's Mod. A complete vehicle system for every Source car (TDM, LW, SGM and any other script car) and for Glide's cars, in Sandbox and DarkRP. Tune your car part by part, park it in your own garage, buy new ones at the dealer and drive with nitro, fuel, damage and a Most Wanted style minimap. No other vehicle addon needed.

Tuning like in Need for Speed

Drive into a tuning zone, press Enter, and a GTA V style menu opens. Every part shows on the car before you buy it, with NFS style ratings for top speed, acceleration, handling and braking.

• Performance: engine, turbo, transmission, brakes, suspension, tyres and nitro. They change the car's real script numbers
• Handling: setups from Race and Grip over Street to Drift and Drift Pro
• Protection: armour in five levels (it really weighs) and bulletproof tyres
• Radar: a police scanner, and a stealth mode that takes you off every radar for a while
• Paint: up to three colours with patterns and GTA V style finishes
• Vinyls: 180 of them in layers like Underground 2, plus your own race numbers and lettering
• Looks: window tint, underglow with 16 animations, ride height, body kits, coloured tyre smoke, backfire flames, horns and a subwoofer
• Number plates: 14 designs with your own number, name and frame
• Speedometers: 11 styles, and a designer to build your own
• Saved per player and car model: spawn the same car again and it's tuned

Garages like GTA Online's

• Admins place garages on the map, players buy one and park their cars in it for good
• A 3D room with your cars on show; floors, walls and lights to buy
• A tuning workshop the car drives into
• Police stations: garages for the police with their own police cars

Car dealer and your first car

• Buy new cars from your garage, shown in one of four scenes: under a motorway bridge at night, on a car park roof, at the docks or in a warehouse
• Like in Need for Speed, your first garage comes with a free first car: four cars come up, drawn by chance, so a lucky player might get a rare supercar
• On DarkRP the dealer sells all TDM and LW cars by itself, priced by speed and sorted by make. Admins can change any price, chance or car

Glide cars

Cars from Glide // Styled's Vehicle Base get the addon too:

• Performance parts and handling setups work on Glide's own engine, gearbox, brakes, suspension and grip
• Paint, patterns, vinyls, window tint, ride height, underglow, tyre smoke and number plates (in place of Glide's own)
• Nitro, backfires, fuel, repair kits, armour and bulletproof tyres
• Buy them at the dealer, park them in your garage and tune them in its workshop. Glide's police cars are found like the others
• Glide keeps its own lights, horn, engine sound, damage and keys. Our speedometer replaces Glide's HUD, or switch Glide's own back on in the settings (the minimap stays)
• Cars only: Glide's motorbikes, boats and aircraft are left as they are. Admins can switch Glide support off in-game

Driving

• Engine switch, fuel, damage down to fire, tyres you can shoot flat, repair kits
• Nitro with long streaks from the tail lights, turbo blow-off, backfires, burnouts and tyre smoke
• Cruise control, a lock with key fob, passenger seats in every car
• NFS style speedometer and a Most Wanted style minimap with police scanner and stealth mode. Every player shapes, colours and places their own
• A car radio like GTA's, one station for the whole server (bring your own MP3s)
• Police cars from TDM, LW and other packs are found by themselves, with a police computer inside. Steal one and you're wanted (DarkRP)

For admins

• Nearly every setting in-game: an admin centre and a server page (prices, parts per rank, garages, car dealer, police, body parts, …)
• Tuning zones placed with a tool
• Vehicle editor: set where a car model's seats, exhaust or underglow sit, right on the car
• English and German

Installation

• Server: add this addon to your server's Workshop collection. Players get the pictures and sounds by themselves when they join (NFS - GMOD Content), nothing to set up
• Singleplayer and listen server: subscribe, done
• Settings: spawn menu > Utilities > Need for Speed. Admins see everything, players only their own settings

Controls

• R engine, H horn, B cruise control, Left Shift nitro, L lock, N radio
• Enter tuning menu (in a tuning zone), G garage, P police computer, J stealth mode, 1-5 change seat
• In Glide cars the engine, horn, lock and seats are Glide's own, with Glide's keys (no cruise control there)
• Every key can be changed under Utilities > Need for Speed > Settings

Good to know

• For Source script cars (prop_vehicle_jeep) and Glide's cars. TDM's cars need TDMCars - Base
• The vehicle editor doesn't work on Glide's cars
• Don't run it together with another vehicle system such as VCMod: both would do the same things twice
• No car lights yet (headlights, brake lights, indicators)
• No music included: put your own .mp3 files in sound/nfs/music/ on your server (lower case names, no spaces)
• In other gamemodes (TTT, Murder, …) it switches itself off
