Petopia BMX Fall

A skatepark in Quahog, late autumn.

An upgraded version of that classic BMX bike map, gm_skatepark: the same park, ramps and layout you know, rebuilt from scratch with lighting, autumn colours and a whole city around it. Streets of shops, billboards up on the rooftops, and elevated subway trains rumbling overhead, on a golden late afternoon in a New England fall. Made for the BMX addon, and fine on any gamemode.

The Park

• Ramps for every line. A halfpipe, quarter pipes, spines, funboxes, flat-bank ramps, a launch box and a grind rail, all solid world brushes with lit, baked shadows.
• Room to ride. A wide-open concrete floor with paved edges, planting beds with kerbs you can ride up to, and nothing in the way of a run.
• Bots welcome. Ships with a navmesh, so the BMX (Mode) trick bot rides the park properly.

The City

• A city, not a skybox. Buildings stand on every wall instead of bare brick, with a second row behind them and a skyline of towers beyond.
• Elevated subway. Three lines cross over the park on steel viaducts and run on out across the city. Trains come and go both ways on two tracks, rumble as they pass, sound their horns, and say where they are going.
• Shops at street level. Shop fronts line the street wherever there is room, each with a name, a window full of what it sells, a door with a path to it, and striped awnings.
• Billboards up high. Quahog's ads are proper billboards: high on the buildings on catwalks with floodlights, or up on the rooftops.
• Family Guy's Quahog. The Drunken Clam, Goldman's Pharmacy, Quahog 5 News, the Happy-Go-Lucky Toy Factory, James Woods High, Spooner Street and more. Family friendly.
• Late autumn. Red and gold trees that sway in the wind, leaves falling and drifting across the floor, hedges and ivy turned for the season, roof gardens, a golden low sun and warm street lamps.

Good To Know

• Nothing extra to download. Only Garry's Mod's own content: no CSS, no HL2 episodes.
• Best with the BMX addon and the BMX (Mode) gamemode. The map works on its own too.
• Slower PC? Options > BMX > Scenery (with the BMX addon), or the console: bmx_city_draw, bmx_city_trains, bmx_city_signs, bmx_city_plants, bmx_city_mood and bmx_city_leaves (1 or 0).

Server Owners

Map name: petopia_bmx_fall. Start with +map petopia_bmx_fall, and add the map with resource.AddWorkshop so players download it. The city builds on its own; bmx_city 0 turns it off.
