Brain-Inspired Fly

Makes the fly model behave like a real fly: it flies and buzzing around, hovers, lands on the ground, walks, cleans its legs, lands on dead bodies to eat, and takes off again when you get too close You can also grab it with the physgun, damage it, or kill it [*]Maggots grow and burst into new flies [*]Optional auto spawn, like pests

How to use

Open the console and type:

• fly_spawn - spawns a fly where you are looking
• fly_clear - removes all flies
• fly_land - makes flies land
• fly_takeoff - makes landed flies take off
• fly_corpse - sends flies to the nearest dead body right away
• fly_corpses 0 - flies ignore dead bodies (fly_corpses 1 turns it back on)
• fly_maggots 0 - disables maggots (fly_maggots 1 turns them back on)
• fly_grubscale 0.2 - changes maggot size
• fly_health <number> - Sets the health of the flies (default is 10)
• fly_buzz 0 - turns buzzing off (fly_buzz 1 turns it on)
• fly_buzzvol 0.6 - buzz volume (0 to 1)
• fly_grow 40 - how many seconds maggots take to grow before bursting into flies
• fly_maxflies 10 - maximum number of flies at once, so maggots can't fill the map
• fly_auto 1 - flies appear on their own near dead bodies (fly_auto 2 also near players when there are no bodies, fly_auto 0 turns it off)
• fly_autodelay 25 - average seconds between auto spawns
• fly_automax 4 - maximum number of flies auto spawn can create

How it works

A small neuron-style circuit decides what the fly does: avoid obstacles, turn suddenly, get curious about players, and panic when something comes too close. The fly flaps its wings and moves its legs while flying, walking, and cleaning itself
